Jack-o-lanterns grinning madly,
On this dark night,
During this, the spectres dance,
Cackling with sheer delight.

The houses act like beacons,
Shining, glowing lights,
That shield all the children from,
All the gruesome sights.

Such as covens of witches,
Making a frothing brew,
Or vampires making victims of,
People that know you.

I hope this hasn't put you off,
Going trick-or-treating,
The night seems to last forever,
But actually only fleeting.

For when all are asleep at eventide,
Angels clear the world for christmas time.*

Ivy

Ivy clings to the garden wall,
A bird perched on it trills a call,
Statues stand, stiff as soldiers,
Roman ones stop at the shoulders.

The surrounding forest is emerald green,
Disturbance is not to be seen,
Sunlight filters from the top,
Emerging from burrows, Rabbits hop,
The shoots they eat are wild and green,
Like the Ivy that clings to the wall.

Screaming at the dark

I wake up from a nightmare,
Scared half to death,
I still think he's chasing me,
I draw a deep breath.

Morning should be soon,
I'll wait for the break of day,
I'm going to wait for the larks song,
I know I'll be okay.

Where is the morning?
Where is the lark?
The nightmare hasn't ended,
Screaming at the dark.

Math Problems

Oh Teacher what do you mean?
8+8 is not 16!
Teacher dear, it's 88,crystal clear!
1+6 is not seven, and 1+1 equals 11!
Oh, Teacher, where did you train?
Is there anything in your brain?
As you can see, I am the best!

What do you mean I failed my addition test?!?

Henry The VIII

Good King Henry is fat as a boar,
He needed a Queen, that was the law,
Bolyen said:"Oh God, he's a smelly old sod!"
As her head rolled onto the floor!

It

Through the new buds of spring,
Past the Daisy fields of summer,
Around the golden leaves of autumn,
And past the snow laden branch of winter,
At the edge of the world.
There 'it' lies and there 'it' will stay,
'Till the very ending day.

My sister's poem

My sister has written this poem, which is a lot like mine(see magic box)

I will put in my box
A gold key that unlocks dreams
A stroke of a baby’s bottom
The music of a faun

I will put in my box
A suck of a gobs stopper from an old candy store
A cherub shooting his arrow of love
A touch of a fluffy cloud

I will put in my box
A fire fairy dancing in the flames
The smell of Mummy making cake
A lunch pail- tree with cheese sandwiches

I will put in my box
The reeking smell of the bath rooms in Dairy Farm camp
The moaning of forgotten answers and
Chocolate melting away

My box is made of wood with mystical carvings
On top there is a tiny globe that tells the future
And it is one metre long

I will ride in my box with the wind until it stops
I will glide like a eagle in search of prey.

The Hermit

Over the hills and rainbows,
lives a hermit ,
with no nose,
or a driving permit.

He cannot read,
He cannot fly,
He cannot lead,
Or touch the sky.

In fact, he can do

NOTHING

He is just a hermit.

Pirates

Compass, Spyglass, Flintlock, you won't rue,
To be a pirate on the deep blue,
Eypatch, Rum, Swash, Buckle, Hat,
It's as great as pyjamas on a cat!

Gulley, Cabin, Kitchen and capitans quarters,
 pirates can be rude retorters,
peg leg, bandanna, black buckle shoe,
there's some space left in my crew

Turpin, Black Beard, Calico Jack-y,
Being a pirate ain't at all tacky,
Anne Anger, The Victory, Tiger and neptune,
I'll bet I'll see you on my ship quite soon!

Home Work

Why do you exist? why don't you fade into the mist?
Why haven't you been banned all around the world?
All this  work you give me makes my hair want to curl!

Have mercy!!

Summer Days

On summer days I like to...

build houses for fairies,
look for shooting stars,
watch wimbledon,
make daisy chains,
swim in the sea,
fly on a swing,
feast on bubble and squeak,
ride on horses,
chew mint leaves,
go kangaroo hunting,
celebrate the lack of school!

Endangered Animals

Elephants are disappearing,
The end for them is nearing,
for their 'precious ' ivory,
they're gonna go,
don't you see?

Tigers are disappearing,
the end for them is  nearing,
killed for their furry stripes,
they're gonna be wiped,
out.

Questions II

What is rain?

Rain is the thing that goes bump in the night,
During day it throws rainbows and light,
flying children of the deep blue,
sometimes heavy, sometimes few

Jacks Children

What might have been a meadow,
Now covered with Jacks children,
The tree is bare,
The twigs are covered in liquid silver,
It is silent;the only noise is the snow falling, light as a thistledown,
The sky, black with blue stains, is breath taking,
There are no clouds to be seen,
Beyond, everything is glistening white,
Small, snow covered bushes arranged about the tree,
The tree is dressed in ice,
A new gown, with the most complex patterns.

the fairy ring

In the woods,
Where Blues and Jays sing,
We gather upon a fairy ring,
With caps of gold and silver,
That Dwarfs makes,
Here they come a-dancing,
With you in their wake,
Fire-flies a-flying,
With Pixies on their backs,
All in pretty outfits,
Shoes are all they lack,
Flee,Flee,
Back to your home,
They're a-shooting elfin arrows,
A-running here they come.

Patch

This is for Patch, the little mare that left the saddle club.

one day you were there,
all fit and fiesty,
but then you left us,
Patch the almighty!

I first saw you in you stable,
so neat and o so tidy,
but then you were bleeding,
Patch the Almighty!

Every one was larking about,
but then you lay down slightly,
Shes gone to heaven,
PATCH THE ALMIGHTY!

The Truth Of Cloth

What happens if you wear these material.

Cotton White, Much delight,
Fortunes favorite too,
Every morn she wakes up,
With a six pence in her shoe!

Silken Red, Go to bed,
Naughty little boy,
The reason that your in here is,
That you stole Joana's toy!

Velvet Black, You can't turn back,
The very end is near,
You should be filled with sorrow for,
Your family is in tears!

All Systems Go!

This is a poem that I wrote at school because it was a project.

Hands are for cooking, Eyes are for looking,
Legs are for walking, Mouths are for talking,
ALL SYSTEMS GO!

Spines are sleeping, Tears are for weeping,
Thumbs are for wrestling, Brains, Detesting
ALL SYSTEMS GO!

Noses are for picking, Tongues for licking,
Arms for flailing, as well as flaying,
ALL SYSTEMS GO!

Ears are for hearing, Lips are for jeering,
Hearts are for pumping, Fists are for thumping,
ALL SYSTEMS GO!

Haikus

A few season haikus,

A large yellow sun,
Greets the worlds spring time creatures,
says hello to them.

Long blades of grass now,
the sun is pleasantly warm,
time for a picnic!

Leaves are very bright,
It is starting to get cold,
Leaves can fly quite high!

Times are getting cold,
The trees are covered in silver,
The world is now white!

limericks

An apple pie bed,
Is a prank some have said,
A warning to those,
Who love this so,
Be careful where you put your head!

Many don't know,
that if you use a hoe,
Your garden will look a fright,
Wake up one night,
And scrape it with your little toe!

magic box: my version

This is my version of Kate Wright's 'magic box'

I will put in the box,

A piece of kitten fur as soft as the wind,
A sunset like a gate to heaven,
The sound of children on Christmas morning,

I will put in the box,

The Northern lights,
A milk shake by a poolside,
A marsh mellow roasting on a fire,

I will put in the box,

Muffins roasting in an oven,
A dumpling on a plate,
The sound of birds at sundown,

I will put in the box,

A fairy tale cottage,
A rainbow on a summers day,
The music of a violin,

My box is made out of an ancient willow tree,
It's carvings are of olden script,
Flowing with gold and silver.

I will ride on my box,
on the wild north wind and I will never stop!

Chinese New Year

Lots of noise fills the air,
red streamers from every window,
fire crackers flying,
dragons and lions dancing,
many people cleaning,
children eating chocolate,
golden oxes on the wall,
oranges galore!

gong xi fa cai!

Its alive

The alien eyes made out of lego,
are staring at me,
black pupils,
green eyelids,
kinda creepy.....

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!

the heaven garden

many flying petals passing the oak,
lightly showering it with beauty ,
softer than the smell of roses,
or the shining granite gleaming,
this is the heaven garden.
